It was billed as the ultimate cutter but now the hype has died down it seems that most of the

professional match anglers have learned their lessons and either kept their Tilley Cutter or gone back to the Tilley cutter.

Well....Finally got hold of one.
Paid £40 for the 6mm and 8mm spare blade set postage free off ebay.

A very good deal as it was postage free.

So I thought i would try it out and see if it was all it was cracked up to be.
I had to read the instructions a couple of times and after a couple of attempts I found it to be good, but not great as all the reviews had said.

I have to say it cuts the meat perfectly, but it is bulky and a nightmare to clean, especially as we do not have a dishwasher.
Is it any faster than my trusty old Tilley cutter ?

No, definitely not, but it does the job.
Nice bit of kit, but do not listen to the hype, like I did !

I agree I listened to the hype and sold my Tilley and brought the map cutter
is it a good design but i found the meat harder to push through the cutters even when i warmed the meat and blades
does the job but not as good as the Tilley

The Tilley is the BEST meat cutter by a country mile.

I did foolishly buy one of those Maver ones but it had appalling non existent build quality and worst of all it was literally BLOODY dangerous as the puncture wounds in my hand testify.

I  have the map cutter and I have to say rubbish that is it, it is in my shed the Tilley is the best, just go and cut 4m with the map and see what happens it go’s to mush
